Volleyball Game Preview: Meridian Mustangs vs. Cross County Cougars

The Meridian Mustangs will face off against the Cross County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Meridian didn't have quite enough to beat Shelby-Rising City and fell 2-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meridian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Cross County entered their tilt with Shelton on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bulldogs.

Cross County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-13.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Cross County, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.
