Recap: Brighton Bulldogs vs. Fossil Ridge Sabercats
The Brighton Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 64-7 loss at the hands of Fossil Ridge. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brighton has scored all season.
They used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Brynn Davis,
Rylee Hirsch, and
Laila Alexander posted two points each.
Haleyanna Martin took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Carmen Arkin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fossil Ridge, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. Lauren Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight steals.
Brighton's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.2 points per game. As for Fossil Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Brighton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mountain Range at 7:00 p.m. As for Fossil Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Boulder has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
