Football Game Preview: Valley Christian Defenders vs. Ramona Rams + How To Watch

The Valley Christian Defenders will face off against the Ramona Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Valley Christian comes in on six and Ramona on five.

Valley Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past San Dimas with points to spare, taking the game 28-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sean Bouma, who picked up 82 receiving yards and a pair of scores. That's the most receiving yards Bouma has posted since back in October. Another passer making a difference was Liam Sweeney, who threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Ramona's strategy against Hesperia on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Rams blew the Scorpions out of the water with a 40-13 final score. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won eight matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Lorenzo Sims and Zamar Malveaux. Sims had a great game and rushed for 161 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Malveaux was balling out in the loss, rushing for 92 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Valley Christian was taken down by Ramona 42-13 when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Thankfully for the Defenders, Beau Bruins (who rushed for 188 yards and four scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
