Football Recap: Caddo Mills' Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Caddo Mills lost against Sunnyvale back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Foxes fell 45-34 to Sunnyvale. The Foxes were down 42-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Caddo Mills still got an impressive performance from Kollin Heath, who picked up 142 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Heath's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards.

Even if they lost, Caddo Mills' defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. Gavin Beierschmitt was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles.

Cayson Maupin was nothing short of spectacular for Sunnyvale: he threw for 314 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 76 yards. Hudson Leonard was Maupin's top target, picking up 85 receiving yards and one score.

Having lost for the first time this season, Caddo Mills fell to 2-1. As for Sunnyvale, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Caddo Mills will head out on the road to take on Brownsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunnyvale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Van at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
