Football Game Preview: Carson Senators vs. Reno Huskies + How To Watch

Carson is 1-7 against Reno since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Senators will be playing at home against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m.

Carson managed to slip by McQueen the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Senators took a blow against the Lancers on Friday, falling 34-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Reno never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-0 victory over Hug. The Huskies have beaten the Hawks the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hawks has come to flipping the script.

Reno's win came from a few key players Carson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braylon Wilson, who rushed for 63 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson Mathews was another key player, rushing for 96 yards and one score.

Reno was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Reno's defense and their 6.5 sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Mathews and Andre Daniels III, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Reno's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Carson, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Carson lost to Reno at home by a decisive 28-14 margin in their previous meeting back in September of 2021. Thankfully for the Senators, Niko Amari (who rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only 12 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
