Basketball Recap: Conway Christian Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Conway Christian kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dillon Christian Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 55-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Conway Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mason Lee, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Brailin Barnhill, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dillon Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Blackmon, who shot 55% from the field en route to 27 points along with seven boards and three steals. McKinnon Sampson was another key player, putting up 20 points and six assists.

Looking ahead, Conway Christian will face off against Christ the Cornerstone Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dillon Christian, they will square off against Aynor at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
