Volleyball Recap: West Broward Bobcats vs. Western Wildcats

West Broward unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Western Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

West Broward started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 18-25, 25-8, 25-19, 15-9.

Jordan Quintanilla paced West Broward's offense, picking up 14 kills. Quintanilla got some help from Max Fischman and his 43 assists. Quintanilla was also a major player on defense: he and Israel Hector shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

West Broward didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Hialeah on the 8th. As for Western, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Cardinal Gibbons on the 5th.
