Recap: El Dorado Golden Hawks vs. El Modena Vanguards
After losing to the El Modena Vanguards the last time they met, the El Dorado Golden Hawks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. El Dorado walked away with a 61-50 victory over El Modena on Tuesday. Given El Dorado's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while El Modena is ranked 647th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Dorado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Barker, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Andrew Salvador was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three blocks and two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for El Dorado and bumps their season record up to 14-9. As for El Modena, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Dorado's road trip will continue as they head out to face Esperanza at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Esperanza is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for El Modena, they will head out on the road to face off against Brea Olinda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brea Olinda is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
