Volleyball Recap: Citrus Comes Up Short

Citrus was the 2-0 winner over Manatee when they last played one another back in September of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Citrus fell 2-0 to Manatee on Saturday.

Citrus' offense was headlined by Mackenzie Flaherty and Elin Ackerman, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Ella Merchant and her 11 assists. Flaherty and Ackerman didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Citrus has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Manatee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Citrus will welcome Crystal River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manatee, they will take on Saint Stephen's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
