Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Eric Mcwright and Jake Gagnepain Lead San Jacinto Leadership Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Desert Christian Academy, San Jacinto Leadership Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-45 victory over the Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Mustangs. The Lions pushed the score to 51-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

San Jacinto Leadership Academy was led to victory by Jake Gagnepain and Eric McWright. Gagnepain posted 30 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while McWright had 14 points and seven rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gagnepain has scored at least a third of San Jacinto Leadership Academy's points. Ezra Olguin was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

San Jacinto Leadership Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

San Jacinto Leadership Academy will face off against Santa Rosa Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Jacinto Leadership Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season. As for Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School, they will welcome Temecula Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
