Basketball Recap: Millennium Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Millennium unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors on Monday.

Millennium's loss came despite strong showings from Dustin Ward and Joseph Streeter. Ward dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds, while Streeter posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Elijah Hearn was another key player, putting up eight points.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millennium is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Clover Garden School at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Cresset Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
