Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 71-24 stomp they got against the Winside Wildcats. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Preston Hoke, who went 7 of 12 en route to 14 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Alec Schindler, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Hoke wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Lurz, who put up eight points.

Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Winside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-36 win against Wakefield on the 28th. As for Winside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-43 defeat against Ainsworth on the 28th.
