Cesar Beruman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Wells got a massive performance out of Tristen Zimmerman, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Zimmerman has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gage Uhlig, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Excel Christian won against Carlin back in March with 19 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on Coleville with a sharp 19-2 victory.
Luc Mandes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Schoech, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Excel Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coleville only posted a batting average of .200.
Wells' win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Excel Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-1.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wells hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Excel Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
