Volleyball Recap: Iowa-Grant Falls Short of Fennimore in the Playoffs

Iowa-Grant and Fennimore squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Iowa-Grant had to settle for second. They came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat back in September.

Iowa-Grant was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-22, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Iowa-Grant saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rena Pettit had eight digs and seven assists.

Iowa-Grant has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's still a better percentage than their 8-25 record this season. As for Fennimore, they pushed their record up to 28-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Iowa-Grant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fennimore, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bangor on the 25th.
