Red Bank Catholic and Marlboro are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Caseys will host the Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Red Bank Catholic will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Red Bank Catholic beat Morris Catholic 6-1.
Lily Hagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Nicole Knox was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Grace Lombardi was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Marlboro's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Middletown North by a score of 2-1. The Mustangs were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Lions' pitcher proved too tough.
Emily Gaudio was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Gaudio was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.
Red Bank Catholic's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Marlboro, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Red Bank Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Marlboro struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Red Bank Catholic's way against Marlboro in their previous meeting on April 8th, as Red Bank Catholic made off with an 8-2 win. Do the Caseys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
