Blair Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Academy of the New Church Lions with a sharp 78-56 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Bucs, who have now won five games in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Academy of the New Church still got an impressive performance from Dior Carter, who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Carter is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Smith, who shot 62% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blair Academy will be taking part in a tournament against College Achieve at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Academy of the New Church, they will face off against Pennington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
