Volleyball Recap: Compton Early College Takes a Loss

After flying high against Summit View West last Tuesday, Compton Early College came back down to earth. The Rising Phoenix took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Rising Phoenix in their meetings with the Aztec Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 25-9.

Compton Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Animo Leadership, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Compton Early College will square off against rival Pacific Lutheran at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Animo Leadership is set to challenge their familiar foe Ambassador at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
