Basketball Recap: Pewitt Comes Up Short

Pewitt managed to keep up with Rivercrest until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pewitt Brahmas were dealt a 53-24 loss at the hands of the Rivercrest Rebels. The Brahmas just can't catch a break and have now endured nine defeats in a row.

Rivercrest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Diana Kelley, who posted 14 points along with six boards and four steals. Kelley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Henry, who put up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Pewitt's record is now 3-9. As for Rivercrest, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-20.

Pewitt will welcome Maud at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rivercrest, they will take on Harts Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
