Softball Game Preview: Beaverhead County Beavers vs. Butte Central Catholic Maroons

Beaverhead County is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Thursday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Butte Central Catholic Maroons at 3:00 p.m. Butte Central Catholic took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Beaverhead County, who comes in off a win.

While Beavers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They blew past East Helena 19-2 last Saturday.

Adyson Creighton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Creighton was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Beaverhead County got a massive performance out of Tyler Gibson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bridget Lovaas, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Beaverhead County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Helena only posted an OBP of .429.

Meanwhile, Butte Central Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Park on Saturday and fell 11-9.

Beaverhead County might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Butte Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2016. Can Beaverhead County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
