Volleyball Recap: Marion Find Success

Marion won the last time they faced Mt. Vernon and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 2-0 win over the Rams.

Marion never let Mt. Vernon on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23.

Marion can attribute much of their success to Jacie Havens, who had 11 digs and two assists. Those 11 digs gave Havens a new career-high.

Marion now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Mt. Vernon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Marion will take on Centralia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Orphans will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mt. Vernon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Hutsonville/Palestine on the 11th.
