Basketball Game Preview: Punahou Buff n' Blue vs. Leilehua Mighty Mules

The Punahou Buff n' Blue will square off against the Leilehua Mighty Mules at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Punahou is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

If Leilehua heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Punahou took over last week. The Buff n' Blue came out on top in a nail-biter against Kahuku on Saturday, sneaking past 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buff n' Blue have posted against the Red Raiders since December 20, 2017.

Meanwhile, Leilehua lost 56-36 to Maryknoll on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Mighty Mules in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost six in a row.

Leilehua now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Punahou, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Punahou beat Leilehua 55-44 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will the Buff n' Blue repeat their success, or do the Mighty Mules have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
