Volleyball Recap: Sam Matheny Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Triopia/Virginia

Dunlap's tournament run continued when they took on Triopia/Virginia on Saturday. The Eagles came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 2-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dunlap to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Matheny, who had four digs and three blocks. That's the most digs Matheny has posted over her last seven matchups. Abby Scott was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Dunlap's record is now 10-3. As for Triopia/Virginia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Dunlap and Triopia/Virginia will both be playing Decatur Eisenhower the next time they take the court. The Trojans will head out to face the Panthers on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 9:30 a.m.
