It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Medicine Lodge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Kingman/Norwich Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since April 3rd.

Medicine Lodge got a massive performance out of Emmy Gerdes, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Cunningham, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Medicine Lodge's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7. As for Kingman/Norwich, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.
