Volleyball Recap: Manchester Comes Up Short

Manchester suffered their biggest defeat since October 3, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Southwood Knights. The Squires haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-9, 25-7.

Elizabeth Renz paced Manchester's offense, picking up 11 kills. Renz got some help from Sophie Cumberland and her 11 assists.

Southwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Presley Kroft, who had ten digs and three aces. That's the most aces Kroft has posted over her last eight contests. Taylor Haecker also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Southwood, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2.

Looking ahead, Manchester will head out to square off against Wabash at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwood, they will face off against Goshen at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
