Andrew Cavender posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He is becoming a predictor of Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).
