Softball Recap: North Summit Braves vs. American Leadership Academy Eagles

North Summit extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-13. They lost 16-9 to the American Leadership Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 18-6 loss on March 13th.

MORGAN LEFLER made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of RAYLAN WOOLSEY, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

As for American Leadership Academy, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

On American Leadership Academy's side, their victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Karyssa Johnson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave Johnson a new career-high. Kimber Orr was another, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Coming up, North Summit will challenge South Summit at 3:30 p.m. on the 8th. As for American Leadership Academy, they will head out to challenge Park City at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Miners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.45 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
