Baseball Recap: Paulding County Falls to Kennesaw Mountain in First Game of Season

Paulding County kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to them when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Paulding County got a good showing from Hunter Redden, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Redden a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Paulding County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Lehman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Looking ahead, Paulding County will welcome Hiram at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Hiram will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Paulding County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they will head out to take on Wheeler at 1:10 p.m. on Saturday.
