Baseball Recap: Ambassador Christian School Triumphs

Ambassador Christian School won the last time they faced Hickory Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Knights 6-5.

Michael Bowser tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on JT Roche, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was James Cameron Johnson IV, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Ambassador Christian School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ambassador Christian School's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. As for Hickory Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ambassador Christian School will face off against Combine Academy National at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hickory Christian Academy, they will challenge Asheville Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
