Soccer Recap: Martin County Comes Up Short

The Martin County Gators came up short against the Currituck County Knights on Monday and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, Martin County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 545th, while Currituck County are ranked 232nd).

Martin County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-4. As for Currituck County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6-2.

Martin County has already played their next match, a 7-0 loss against Northeastern on the 8th. As for Currituck County, they will be playing at home against First Flight at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
