Recap: Wadley Bulldogs vs. Horseshoe Bend Generals
The Wadley Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 68 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Horseshoe Bend 74-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (55), Wadley still had to take the loss.
Wadley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Frisco Robertson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The game was Robertson's third in a row with at least ten points. Damarious Spraddling was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with four steals.
Wadley bumped their record down to 1-2 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Horseshoe Bend, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wadley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Alabama School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Alabama School for the Deaf is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Horseshoe Bend, they will head out on the road to face off against Beauregard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beauregard is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
