Football Recap: Torrey Pines Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Blake Miller and Logan Bonneau

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Torrey Pines can now relate to. They fell just short of the Poway Titans by a score of 27-24 on Friday. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Despite the defeat, Torrey Pines had strong showings from Logan Bonneau, who picked up 98 receiving yards and one score, and Blake Miller, who threw for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Luke Jorgensen was his usual excellent self, rushing for 190 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry for Poway. Jorgensen also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Titans are 4-2 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Noah Schuback was another key player, rushing for 80 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Torrey Pines' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Poway, their record now sits at 5-6.

Torrey Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Poway, they will challenge Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' defense better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 42.4 points per game this season.
