Basketball Recap: Rock Canyon Falls to Valor Christian in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Rock Canyon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Valor Christian Eagles 69-40 on Monday. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith Miller, who posted ten points. Emerson McDonald was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Peyton Jones was a one-woman wrecking crew For Valor Christian. as she shot 53% from the field to rack up 19 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Camryn Gunter, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rock Canyon is headed away from home for the first time to take on Broomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valor Christian, they will head out to square off against Legend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
