Basketball Recap: Windsor Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Manchester

On Wednesday, Windsor faced Manchester in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Windsor Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 95-94 to the Manchester Red Hawks. The Warriors were up 52-34 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Manchester got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Oden-Tann out in front who went 9 for 17 on his way to 27 points and four steals. The game was Oden-Tann's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Major, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 20 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Windsor's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Manchester, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

Windsor will face off against South Windsor at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Windsor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully South Windsor likes a good challenge. As for Manchester, they will take on Tolland at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
