Football Game Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Warriors vs. Tallulah Academy Trojans

The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors will challenge the Tallulah Academy Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tallulah Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Heritage Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

Heritage Christian Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Franklin Academy, who was ranked 14th in their home state at the time (Heritage Christian Academy was ranked 20th). The Warriors walked away with a 34-24 victory over the Cougars on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their eight-point performance the contest before.

Daniel Lincoln and Boston Laursen were among the main playmakers for Heritage Christian Academy as the former gained 179 total yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 34 yards and two TDs. What's more, Lincoln racked up 144 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Heritage Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Heritage Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lincoln and Cameron Geraci. Lincoln also rushed for 144 rushing yards, which is notable because Heritage Christian Academy is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-5 otherwise.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Tallulah Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by Briarfield Academy 40-8. The Trojans were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Tallulah Academy's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Heritage Christian Academy, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6.
