Basketball Game Preview: Littleton Lions vs. Bear Creek Bears

The Littleton Lions and the Bear Creek Bears will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

It was a proper cat-fight when Littleton faced off against Summit on Friday. Littleton fell 32-19 to Summit. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The losing side was boosted by Vicky Whitney, who posted two points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Littleton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bear Creek). They enjoyed a cozy 56-38 win over Heritage on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.

Littleton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Bear Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Littleton came up short against Bear Creek when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 52-43. Can Littleton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
