Baseball Game Preview: Amundsen Vikings vs. Chicago Washington Patriots

The Amundsen Vikings will square off against the Chicago Washington Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Amundsen's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Chicago Washington has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Amundsen took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Benet Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Redwings on Tuesday.

Amundsen got a great performance from Alex Barsky as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Barsky has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Amundsen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick O'Keefe, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, Chicago Washington fell victim to Chicago Mt. Carmel and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Caravan, falling 14-0.

Amundsen's win bumped their record up to 9-21-1. As for Chicago Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.
