Softball Recap: Livingston Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Livingston, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Beyer Patriots by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

Mariah Blaine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Livingston let Olivia Costa and Elizabeth Avila run wild. Costa scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Avila scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Livingston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Livingston's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Beyer, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livingston will host Grace Davis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Beyer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
