Softball Recap: Cape Coral Wins Going Away Against Bonita Springs

Cape Coral made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bonita Springs, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Cape Coral Seahawks' way against the Bonita Springs Bullsharks on Thursday as the Cape Coral Seahawks made off with a 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Seahawks, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Adrianna Thronton looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Allie Buice was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Jocelyn Slater was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Cape Coral kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

As for Bonita Springs, they will challenge Estero at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bonita Springs has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
