Baseball Recap: Springstead Comes Up Short

Springstead suffered their closest defeat since February 27, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Nature Coast Tech Sharks by a score of 7-5. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sharks earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Dalton Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Sabino, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Springstead's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Nature Coast Tech, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springstead will host Lecanto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Springstead has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Central at 7:00 p.m.
