Baseball Recap: Mccann Tech Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Drury, McCann Tech was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Lee Wildcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hornets considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Hayden Barrett was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Zach Howland was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brody Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

McCann Tech has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coming up, McCann Tech will challenge Mount Greylock Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lee, they will square off against Lenox Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Millionaires have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
