Lawrence Free State gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They never let the De Soto Wildcats onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. This was payback for the Firebirds, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lawrence Free State will challenge Shawnee Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for De Soto, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lansing at 6:00 p.m. on October 1st.
