Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Aroostook). They put the hurt on the Fort Fairfield Tigers with a sharp 17-2 win on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.
Brooke Shields made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Hope Curry was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
