Basketball Game Preview: Deer Park Wildcats vs. Reading Blue Devils

The Deer Park Wildcats will head out to square off against the Reading Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Deer Park is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Saturday. They took an 87-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of North College Hill. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Trojans are ranked 119th).

Meanwhile, Reading came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past St. Bernard-Elmwood Place 66-39 on Saturday. The contest marked the Blue Devils' most dominant victory of the season.

Deer Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Reading, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Deer Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Reading when the teams last played back in December of 2025, winning 88-76. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
