Football Recap: Starmount Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Starmount couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 14-2 to the Murphy Bulldogs on Friday. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Deuce Best threw for 64 yards on five of 14 attempts. Corey Armstrong was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards.

Starmount moved to 11-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Murphy, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Starmount does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Murphy, they will be playing at home against Tarboro at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points in their last ten contests.
