Basketball Recap: First Baptist's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If First Baptist was riding high fresh off their 75-21 takedown of Owatonna Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders came up short against the St. Francis Christian Patriots on Monday, falling 75-54. The loss put an end to the Crusaders' undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why First Baptist lost, don't look at Jon Anaya. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Anaya is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. Caleb Lindsay was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, First Baptist fell to 2-1.

Coincidentally, First Baptist and St. Francis Christian will both be playing Prior Lake Christian the next time they take the court. The Patriots will head out to face the Royals at 6:45 p.m. on the 9th, while the Crusaders will host them at 6:45 p.m. on January 30, 2026.
