Football Recap: Wasco Piles Up the Points Against Delano

Wasco extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. They breezed past Delano to the tune of 42-0. Considering Wasco has won five contests by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hammie Lopez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 172 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while also picking up 116 receiving yards and one TD. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 97 yards. Another player making a difference was Jayven Hernandez, who threw for 123 yards and a pair of TDs on only six passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wasco was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 269 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Wasco's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Joel Nunez.

As for Delano, they now have a losing record of 4-5. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Wasco: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Delano still got an impressive performance from Julian 'Juju' Herrera, who rushed for 123 yards.

Wasco has already played their next game, a 39-33 defeat against Shafter on the 31st. As for Delano, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-26 loss against Taft on the 31st.
