Recap: Dunbar Mightymen vs. Kennedy Crusaders
In what's become a running theme this season, the Dunbar Mightymen gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Kennedy 73-31 on the road. Given Dunbar's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Kennedy is ranked 528th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michael Gallas. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Vincent Carrero was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Dunbar's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Kennedy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunbar will take on Hubbard at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hubbard is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, they will head out on the road to square off against Mather at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
