High Plains waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took down the Hampton Hawks 51-36. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-33 on January 9th.

High Plains' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Brown, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 14 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. Brown is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Peyton Hofmann, who went 5 for 10 en route to 10 points and seven assists.

High Plains was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hampton only posted eight assists.

Hampton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Schulze, who posted 11 points and five blocks. Schulze has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 17 times she's played. Gavin Gilmore was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

High Plains has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Hampton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

High Plains has already played their next game (against Nebraska Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hampton will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palmer at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
