Baseball Recap: Novato Finds Home Field Redemption Against Archie Williams

There's no place like home for Novato, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Peregrine Falcons: they've now won five in a row.

Griffin Vorhaus was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Novato is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-3 otherwise. Vorhaus was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Vorhaus wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gio Castaing, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Scott Rios also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory got Novato back to even at 3-3. As for Archie Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Novato beat Archie Williams by a score of 5-1 on Thursday.
