Baseball Recap: Conemaugh Township Makes It Six in a Row at Home

While Conemaugh Township's victory against Marion Center wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Stingers on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Reed Conn and Colin Dinyar did most of the damage at the plate: Conn went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Dinyar scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Conemaugh Township pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Marion Center, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Conemaugh Township is set to square off against their familiar foe Conemaugh Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.9, the Blue Jays 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Marion Center will face off against rival River Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
